This is your go-to page for all the information about a new school year at The Grove —contact information, The Grove calendar, our Tuesday schedule, rosters, and more. If you need the details that keep our year running smoothly, you’ll find them here.
This year at The Grove, we will continue to begin our day together in our Morning Collective space. The time will be used to hold certain components as a community, including: our benediction, Scripture, poetry recitation, and singing the Doxology together. We ask that everyone arrive at 8:45 to drop off lunches and class supplies inside while the students play outside.
Charlotte Mason believed that time in nature wasn’t just refreshing—it was essential. She wrote, “Never be within doors when you can rightly be without,” and encouraged children to spend hours outdoors each day—not just playing, but observing, wondering, and building a lifelong relationship with the natural world.
At The Grove, we carry that heart into our Family Nature Study—a simple, seasonal rhythm that helps families slow down, get outside, and pay attention together. Each month includes: nature walks, nature journaling ideas, picture book suggestions, and gentle prompts to help moms and kids grow in wonder together!
We’re excited to continue offering 4th Block Electives for all Grove students this year! These hands-on, engaging classes are a chance to explore new skills, deepen relationships, and enjoy a creative end to our Tuesdays together.
Form 1 students will enjoy four sets of 6-week electives during each of the first two terms, for a total of 9 electives across the year. In Term 3, all Form 1 students will come together for one whole-group elective experience.
TERM 1 ELECTIVES: Kitchen Science | Doodle Weaving |
Houseplants 101 | Basic Sewing Skills
TERM 2 ELECTIVES:
TERM 3 ELECTIVES:
Form 2 students rotate through three meaningful 4th Block experiences every Tuesday at The Grove.
Spiritual Foundations
This year’s focus is on exploring the unique identities God has given us as men and women. The girls will go through Maidens by Design, while the boys will meet with a team of Grove dads to walk through “The 5 Shifts from Boyhood to Manhood” in an intentional, encouraging space.
Drama & Shakespeare
Form 2 students will rehearse and prepare to perform a Shakespeare play, "Much Ado About Nothing". They’ll be involved in everything from memorizing lines and learning stage presence to designing sets and creating costumes.
Creative Electives
These 6-week classes give students a chance to try new handicrafts, explore practical skills, and dive into the creative side of the Charlotte Mason feast.
TERM 1: Clay & Pottery | Stop Motion Animation
TERM 2:
TERM 3:
In a Charlotte Mason education, exams happen at the end of each term and serve as a second narration—an opportunity for students to reflect on and express what they’ve truly understood and remembered from the term’s lessons. Rather than focusing on memorization or grades, these exams highlight relationships formed with ideas. At The Grove, we’ll provide exam questions and simple instructions for each family to complete at home after the final week of the term.
